Shell

How we do business

The Shell General Business Principles - opens in new window include our support for fundamental human rights in line with the legitimate role of business. We aim to work with integrity, even as the search for oil and gas takes us into challenging locations and politically sensitive countries. We pay taxes and royalties to the governments of countries where we operate, and these are often their main source of revenue.

Human rights

Our Business Principles include our aim to respect the human rights of our employees and support fundamental human rights in line with the legitimate role of business. We also work with others to support international efforts to improve understanding of the relationship between business and human rights.

HIV and AIDS

Our company-wide HIV/AIDS program states we do not discriminate against anyone affected by HIV/AIDS. We also help to provide treatment for employees affected by HIV/AIDS. In partnership with other companies and organisations we work to raise awareness and support efforts to slow the spread of HIV/AIDS in the communities where we operate.

The Shell Recruitment Day

If you want to come and work with us and make a career at Shell, your first step is to chose the route you want to take. One of these is a Shell Recruitment Day, which provides us with the opportunity to find out more about you, watch how you work with other people, and see if you've got the qualities and expertise we're looking for.

Investing in diversityAcquiring and understanding global and cultural knowledge have become increasingly important for our success in this global environment. Below are a few examples of the many tools offered to our employees to assist in this effort:
Managing in a Global Organization (MGO)A web-based resource providing a central location to share tools, information, and tips for effective communication, teambuilding, and to provide employees an ongoing opportunity to network globally.
